Meet the Staff at BioWheels-Cincinnati

Mitch Graham

Hometown: Skaneateles, NY

My bikes: 3 beautiful custom IF bikes to fit my gawky frame!

My favorite bike: my first real mountain bike – a ProFlex 755 purchased @ BioWheels while in school.

Memorable riding: Commuting home from Clifton on my cross bike in a snowstorm down the middle of Madison Rd – traffic was apocalyptic.

Interesting tidbits: Grew up on a farm in upstate NY with cows, turkeys, chickens, ducks, cats, dogs and peacocks.  Ran Cross Country for Xavier University under Bob Roncker.  Vegetarian.  Left handed.

Accomplishments: Moving the BioWheels store across town from Clifton to Madeira in 1 day, then promoting a UCI cyclocross event a week later – ouch!   Tour de Georgia team mechanic. Winning the 24hrs of Seven Springs solo.

Nate Mirus

My favorite bike:My bikes:
Right now I have an IF, a Titus, an Ellsworth, a Scott Addict, Ventana SS and a couple of Niner’s.  I’m kind of fond of John’s fixie!  I want him to build one up like it for me (twisted spokes and all).

Fuji Eldorado alloy road frame w/downtube shifters and Paul Thumbies to glide me through 21 graceful gears.  27″ alloy Velocity rims laced to 48 spoke hubs take the edge off of every little thing.  Oh yeah! But really it would be my Jet Nine.

Memorable riding:
5 years old.  Ran away from home. Took my sister’s backpack and hit the road on my bike.  The backpack was full of books so I dumped it a few blocks later.  Hung out in an alley across the neighborhood for the day.  Got chased by a dog and left my bike.  Lost a bike and my sister’s schoolbooks that day.  Talk about memorable, but really I think that was just one of J Woods bad dreams.
I would have to say Moab, starting up in Hazard County ending in Moab, over 20 miles of sweet down hill!

Interesting tidbits:
Went to School for commercial arts, worked as a tattoo artist for a couple of years before joining the exciting world of computer sales. I’ve been addicted to cycling since I was a teen and now work at Biowheels to support that habit.

Accomplishments:
I can drink 1 gallon of whole milk or 1/2 gallon of buttermilk without throwing up.  One time i reversed the odometer on a 1968 Rambler all the way back to zero by spinning the front driver’s side wheel backward.  It took three days!  Qualified as 1st alternate for 2004 Olympic curling team. When I’m not out there curling I’m doing 100 mtb races, with 15 under my belt and many more to come. Hope to finish a couple 24 hr events in the near future…

Sam Morgan

My favorite bike: My 2011 Cervelo P4- Sram Red- Zipp 404 Firecrest

Memorable riding: Getting caught in a crazy storm with 60-80 MPH winds and blinding rain. Trees were bending and breaking as I rode my face off. Besides the near death experience, its the most fun I’ve had on 2 wheels.

Interesting tidbits: Played competitive paintball for 10 years. Ranked 7th nationally in 2002. Tri-Loco Indianapolis Triathlon Team Captain. Christian. Love Chinese food, a good I.P.A. beer, and my English Bull Terrier Lily (Spuds MacKenzie dog)

Accomplishments: Returning to sports after two shoulder surgeries.  Triton Brewery Triathlon Series Overall Champion.Muncie Multisport Sprint Bike Course Record Holder. ORRRC Splash and Dash Aquathlon Series Champion. ORRRC Splash and Dash Aquathlon Course Record Holder. Once ate 34 chocolate chip cookies after 2012 race season.

Hometown: Born in South Africa, my family moved to Cincinnati when I was just 4 years old.  I grew up in Clifton, just down the street from the original Bio Wheels location.

My favorite bike: Hmmmmm… overall, probably my 2001 Jamis Eclipse.  Reynolds 853 frame and Ultegra components.  Smooth, graceful, and dependable.

Susan Williams

Memorable riding: Moab for mountain biking, PCH for road bike rides.

Interesting tidbits: I just came across an old “report card” from nursery school… it says my favorite thing to do (at three years old) is cycle.  Biking has been a passion ever since.

Bio Wheels has been a part of my life since 1994, when the “shop” was actually a basement in a house on Marshall Avenue, near UC.

No longer Vegetarian.  I am, however, left-handed.

Accomplishments: Licensed commercial diver.  Hiked the Colorado Trail solo.  Sales manager for Jamis bikes and Shimano.  Just accepted into UC medical school.

Morgan Beasley – Greeter

Hometown:
Columbus, IN Born on a farm with a kangaroo, horses and cows. Pure Redneck, baby!  My parents were both show dogs.  Been in the ‘Nati long enough to know my way around.

My bikes:

Come on.  I’m a dog, I don’t have a bike!

My favorite bike:

Well I do have a favorite bike.  It was a lovely IF29er and Mitch and I spent many a memorable day exploring parks and trails.  That bike is gone now, but the memories will be with me forever.  Oh yeah!

Memorable riding:
Cat. 1 shadow cyclist

Interesting tidbits:
I too am left-handed.  I enjoy snuggling and nudging people in their junk.

Accomplishments:
Black-belt in jiu-jitsu.  I can jump and spin 360 degrees in both directions.  Once ate an entire roll of toilet paper

    Hello,

I dropped in today on my Dahon and had a nice chat with the owner, I apologize for being horrendous with names and not recalling what it is. You have a neat shop nestled nicely into downtown Madeira where we are hoping to relocate to in the next 9-12 months from Milford. I wanted to pass along a link to the road test I mentioned between the CAAD 10 Rival and the Madone 3.1 from Road Bike Action per our discussion about the CAAD and the Icon. I love your shop and will definitiely be checking back when I’m in the market for something new :)
